It’s always fun when new places pop up in your area to go explore them and see what’s on offer. That’s exactly what my husband and I did this past Saturday and we were not disappointed! Constantia Uitsig has recently opened it’s brand new Heritage Market which has caused quite the buzz in Constantia, Cape Town. As the area is so saturated with wine farms already, you often find yourself going to the same place over and over again which can start to feel quite monotonous. It was the best news ever when we heard that there was a quaint tasting room for the wine farm itself as one of the various little establishments that make up the Heritage Market.
We decided to throw caution to the wind and venture onto new territory. With a mixture of anticipation and excitement we waited for what would be the ultimate test for the newly starting out business…the cheese board.
And wow, what a cheese board. I’m talking the fine dining of all cheese boards, there were even little edible flowers placed all over with such tenderness and care I didn’t want to eat the piece of art that was before me. But, after taking far too many photos and looking like a complete ninkompoop, we eventually tucked in. I am seriously not lying when I say that it was by far the most delicious, texturaly interesting, mouth watering cheese board I have ever had the pleasure of indulging in. And I’ve enjoyed quite a few cheese boards in my time believe you me.
I have to admit I was slightly disappointed to only get 3 wines in our tasting, but if you’re wanting to try something new and live on the edge a little I would definitely recommend giving them a try!
